So I set up a 29 gallon biocube, realized after two days I'm not a fan of Biocubes. They're amazing tanks, just not my favorite. I traded my bicoube for a deep blue rimless 30 gallon cube, and a stand that was just some 2x4s. I set it up and let it run, and added some corals, and left it at that. I was not running a skimmer, for lighting I was running a 8 bulb T5. I then realized how much I rushed everything and sold the stock, Except for the yellow tang, which I'm working on finding a permanent home for, the small sixline wrasse, and my Clown. I purchased a reef octopus space saver 110 skimmer, and have had it running for about 2 months. The tank has been running for about 4 months now. There is no coral in the tank yet. Everything has been testing at 0 for the past 3 months, and I will be adding coral hopefully in another month. I have some small aptasia that must have been on the live rock that I am taking care of tomorrow, with aptasia x and some peppermint shrimp. The rock is covered in cora line, I just need to remove the pest and then I'll be ready for some zoa, then clams and sps further down the road.
The sump/fuge
Filling the tank
The full tank, rock work in place. I'm going with a bare bottom on this build.
Close up on the rock work. Covered in coraline, unfortunately there are also some unwanted pests. The rocks have plenty of holes for frags.
the simple but cheap and effective stand, also my first of any carpentry lol.
