Most do water changes only to keep nitrates and phosphates down.
I haven't done a water change in 4 months but I have dosing pumps to replenish elements.

So it just depends on your system.
No right or wrong way.
If your fish and corals are happy and growing, keep doing that

If your keeping those sun corals happy then I think your doing the right amount of water changes.
Are your nitrates high?

And thanks for the compliment. All you have to do is buy $3k worth of fish and coral, cram it all in there and ta-da! Lol and then keep it alive.

The sun corals are supposed to only open at night as far as that goes.
Hopefully your feeding them daily.
And I'm running a 6 bulb t5 over my tank. I'm just going to get some reefbrite strips for either side so I can get the pop/shimmer that LEDs give, but still have the growth of t5s

I could buy 6 new bulbs every 6 months for this fixture for TWELVE YEARS before I reach the purchase price of One radion. And is need three for this tank. So yeah ima stick to T5s. Any other LED lights just don't cut it IMO

The sun corals don't use any light but for everything else I would get a 4 bulb T5 minimum and only use ATI bulbs in it.

Move the sun coral down to the sandbed

Feed it as close to once a day as you can. They will literally starve to death over time if not fed enough.
They're a high demand coral.

I only use T5s. MH make too much heat and use too much electricity for my liking

It's just a plain rose bubble tip. That has become massive from the clowns power feeding it every day lol
I actually bought it for $20 originally, back then the clowns couldn't even fit in it lol

No I don't carbon dose. You only need to do that if you have a nitrate problem. Mine are always at zero. Even with 15 fish in there...
This is the key to a happy tank

I've had it for less than a month, growth explosion everywhere
