Wait till nitrate go to 5ppm do 30% water change. Time to get a decent test kit like salifert, red sea, hanna checker. API just like guessing game.

Your good to go. Tank is ready for CUC and a fish. Anything under 30 on the Trates scale and your ok. The lower realms are for Reef tanks and coral.

My lfs owner checked my water and he was saying it's pretty good to go as well he said I would usually see some fluctuations is nitritesas well because the tank is small usually you don't see it in a larger tank so I'm pretty happy to say I'm going for my next fish on monday.

Watch out for an algae spike just after the cycle has finished. Remember the colonized bacteria that are consuming the waste in the take only have a small population as there is only a small amount of waste in the tank so don't stock it too quickly. Only add like 1 fish every 2-3 weeks. -- Happy fishkeeping
