Anyone wanna come connect this for me? I have it up, but Lord knows I don't have it setup. It seems all my equipment is giving me trouble.

Has anyone ever converted an electric car charger into a bank of regular outlets (or something similar). Not looking to do it myself, just wondering what's involved and if it's worth it.

Getting some small chores done today. Mounted an Android inside the stand. This will be the monitor for the Apex.

Thanks. I'm ADHD and if I'm not organized, I'm spinning in circles.

This is my handy dandy BlueLife PVC J-hanger. I attached them to where the suction cups were supposed to go. This is hanging on the outside of my sump. Where it has the capacity to empty a good portion of my tank, should the output line ever fall out, I need to grab a J-Guest bulkhead fitting from Home Depot.

This is the water station that has RO/DI and saltwater.

waterchangesystem_zps0cd305f6.jpg

To pump water out of the barrels into a jug, a use a little remote control switch to turn off and on the flow.

Looking sweeter every day !!! I can't tell the difference between ADHD and OCD, but if it keeps your systems looking and running like that, do you have any I could borrow ??

I know nothing about the weather in your state. How does having the sump outside(In the shed) effect temp changes?

I can get away with the sump shed because our weather doesn't change that much. Few days are below 50 in the winter and few are above 80 in the summer. The sun is hot, but the wind is cool.

I did a few things to stabilize the inside temps.

She wasn't well insulated, so I used styro insulation and garage door insulation tape.

And installed fans to turn on if it gets warm in there.

I'm sure you know about the dangers of these beautifull fish. If you havn't all ready buy those "longsleeve plastic gloves" made for our hobby, please. As I have been venomized in the past. (my fault) 12 hours of pain, never again. What do feed your fish?

Those long sleeve plastic gloves will not protect you from a poke, unfortunately. Common sense and respect is what keeps us safe. Thankfully these guys are very docile, so if someone gets stuck it's usually human error. Before we started looking for a stone fish, we did indeed speak to the ER of my local hospital to see what they were equipped with and what protocols they had in place, if any.

I feed whatever is on sale at the market. If I'm having cod, they're having cod. If I'm having Ahi, they're having Ahi. If I'm having Lobster tails, they're having....... Ahi. :)

The water station buckets have float valves in there. I know my limitations, and my limitations are remembering running water or hearing an alarm.

float2_zps66ceb633.jpg

Where there's a salt bucket and a fresh bucket, I had to be able to direct the feed water to one or the other.

wcrodi_zps9f1d576f.jpg

Installed an little LED solar light, so I can see what I'm up to out there at night..... especially with brown widow spiders everywhere.

light_zps1727e8c1.jpg

I had to cut holes in the top of the buckets, to insert the pumps. Today I basically capped them off, so water cannot get in there at all. I couldn't find all white pieces or all black; that's going to drive me insane.

capbase_zps99d41d4e.jpg

There's a filter sock hanging out there, to place into the 5-gallon water jugs, when pumping water from them. Just in case an odd debris got in there at some point.

The RO/DI lines run along the house in special little tracks.

Sooooooo.... when I reach into the shed to grab the remote control I had to feel around in the dark, to find the light switch or the remote. I was scared of the boogie man grabbing my arm, so I painted the light switch with Glow-in-the-Dark paint. It puts off enough light for me to find the remote directly, or of course, find the switch itself.

There was an area in the corner, where the flow kept pushing the sand. No matter what we did with the flow, it didn't make a difference.

So, I had to get creative..... a little acrylic, silicone and sand.........

Enjoyed the read. Let me say I have never wanted out of the Midwest more than when I saw the sump shed. If I could move filtration outside...I could have another 8' in my fishroom.
Love the crisp clean look too. Can't wait to see this continued.

Thanks!

I found a Brown Widow spider in there yesterday. I love it when I find spiders in places I can't spray. Blah. Hopefully I drowned him.

The real reason we got an Android..... wireless light controls. It's only Android compatible right now and we are an Apple family. Haven't programmed anything yet, wish me luck.

Don't know if I mentioned the lights. We went with the Orphek Atlantik.

I've changed my mind a little on stocking. Instead of going with large preds, I'm going the other direction and stocking small preds instead. This week, the first little guy is going in. He's been waiting for quite some time, but had some growing to do. Where this tank was meant for larger preds, the flow may be a little challenging for him.
