Ok, so bought an almost new IM120 from local hobbyists. As he was emptying, presumably because he emptied front chamber completely before emptying the back chamber, the acrylic separated from reinforcement glass wall behind it in three places (see pic for one such deformation). So, need to repair.

I understand this to be a common issue in some recent IM AIOs, and their advice was to squirt some silicone in the void and clamp together. I have several issues with this method: (1) surfaces are not free of debris, (2) Dow not address cause
And make reoccur, eg, acrylic panel too tightly fitted within constraint of aquarium side panels, (3) I worry the deformation may not be completely alleviated and thus remain visible although to lesser degree, and most importantly (4) the silicone bead between side panel and acrylic has separated (see pic). Especially worried about cutting the bead from the area where the acrylic to side panel bead meets the side panel to bottom panel bead (see pic).

I’ve only come across one successful repair which was done via silicone and clamp method, no other. What have other done and/or what do the tank builders/repairers out there suggest? I’m technically inclined so welcome the details.

Thanks in advance!!

For anyone interested, bought some Momentive RTV and fixed it as well as I could. Been filled for 2 weeks and all seems well.

Nice work! What's been your experience with running the tank, once you fixed it? I'm considering buying one, so I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts.
It has been working well without any separation of acrylic/glass wall, and all seams remain intact. I would just be carful not to drain display tank before the sump/rear chamber to avoid pressure on acrylic false wall.
