Soooo... Whats the tank??

The sump will be the grandis of the tanks - but I hope the sps cube will be the spotlight. Want to tie in a wifes tank(40b) with a few cool things I have and 3-4 crazy personable but semi aggressive fish.....lol dont ask me - wifes requests. I want an angler type maybe dwarf lion???

Gotcha. Tired of the big tank? Or are you just bored? I know you will have some stuff for sale out of this swap. Let me know. I have room now! :)

No i still want the volume - just not in the same areas. I love this tank but some changes need to be made. Seems every old tank gives you new ideas.

Cause building new stuff is half the fun. I got really excited again once I got the 75 and started messing with it. Now I am back to staring at my tank haha.

What's the plan for aquascape on the new tank? Geting new rock structures? Looking forward to seeing the new build!

Here is the base structure i will be working with in the cube. Going to bring in tonga from behind on the right side of the structure in a sort of peacock fasion and prolly a hanging shelf in the upper left. Might also just go tonga and keep the simplicity look.

Very impressive! I'm planning a similar structure. I have plenty of fiji, reef, and tonga dry rock; what was your process putting all the pieces together? Did you use zip ties, epoxy, glue, rods, pvc, etc? I really want to remove about 95% of all the sand and ALL of the rock from my 75gal and replace with a new rock structure somewhat similar to yours? You think me doing this will cause a huge cycle, making me have to temporarily remove the fish and corals? I just want a fresh start as the rock and sand is just littered with detritus despite me siphoning the sandbed often, using a baster to blow the low flow areas. And I have plenty of flow with a MP40, MP10, RW15, and WP25 all in my small 75gal

Prolly BB in the cube - i do want a 40b attached also and will run sand in there.

I know of a few people that have broken down and set back up recently to give new life to the tank while cleaning. Hard thing to take on - a lot of work and always a chance for casualties. It seems we get used to things in the tank and dont want to move things when we like how it looks - usually end up loving it after the change tho.

A buddy here in cali actually made this structure and does it as a side gig - dont think he is on here tho. Looks to be mostly the e marco 400 putty with dry rock rubble all thru it for shape n texture.

Well I prolly shouldn't be messing around in the tank at the moment but I couldn't help myself - so made a few changes last night. Will get some before and after pics up after work to see what peeps think.

Here is the front left corner that was driving me crazy. Lots of sand missing - things against glass, etc
Pushed the rock in the corner back and in a bit - added sand. Moved a few things around
Before
After
Almost finished

I think it looks great! Much better than before imo, less cluttered and now you can easily scrape the glass in that corner. Reef is looking fantastic!

looking really good! I like the new arrangements. I love your rock anemones (amongst many other things :)) what type of flow do you have in that lower left area?
