Cyano can build up in a day!! Syphon it with a 1/4" or 3/8" hose, so you have a better chance getting more slime than water. Flow plays a big part in keeping cyano out of our reefs. That may be your problem

Once those powerheads are back in place I'd just siphon out the cyano, im not one for throwing in the chems for that. Cyano can show rather quickly in dead zones.

There is no slime tho. It's just like a redish light dusting. But I will be sure to do this. Thanks

Maybe because your water is in exceptionally good condition. But that is cyano in your pic you posted. Just consider your self kind lucky you don't have a nutrient problem or your whole tank would be covered in red slime within a couple of days
