Hi guys,

After an ammonia spike before Christmas and beginning to populate the tank with corals again, I had to re-up the nitrates in my tank from 0. Started this around the end of Jan and thought I was getting the usual “ugly stage” again with Diatoms. Only issue… these guys just won’t shift!

The algae on the rocks is starting to turn green and hairy now (phew) but after cleaning the tank 20mins ago the floor is beginning to cover in the dreaded brown slime like substance again. Tempted to try dosing with Mycosidol to eliminate that it could be Cyano?

Any advise on how to get rid of this and get through the green hair algae stage quickly? Just want my tank back up and running again!

Diatoms (I beleive) already reappearing! They cover the sand like a blanket!
