After extensive cleaning, sieving and resetting the cultures I was able to establish pure and clean cultures (I didn’t want to just destroy them) and have been using them in our aquariums since. This negative to us is being turned into a positive bonus for our customers.
So for this week we will harvest as usual, and then harvest an equal amount of these additional copepods to add to these products without any additional water effectively doubling or more the number of pods in each container!

As previously discussed we have been culturing a copepod from the genus Harpacticoida that according to a University Researcher that we shipped a sample to are closely related to the Tisbe biminiensis. These little guys are voracious eaters and reproduce like crazy in normal aquarium environments.
