Hi all,
Got this tank 9 months ago from another reefer leaving the hobby.
I love this big purple coral and someone . mentioned it was an alveopora.
So recently got a couple of frags of Alveoporas from Aquasd.
Though maybe it's too early too tell, the polyps seen different.
Different species of alveoporas?
Thanks

It looks like the new frags are actually Goniopora. Beautiful! The easiest way to tell the difference is that Alveoporas have 12 “petals” and Gonis usually have 24, give or take a few.

Wow so they sold me Gonis as they were Alveoporas!! :confounded-face:
The care is very similar & IME, they get along with each other okay. It’s the Bernardoporas that don’t play well with others. The ones you bought are gorgeous & as long as you’re not seeing any sweeper tentacles, you’re good having them together!
