I have 3 reef breeder LEDs on my 180 gallon reef tank. I have soft coral and leathers but my LPS did not survive when I switched from MH and T5s to LED lights : (.

My question is my lights are 4 years and 8 months old now. My tank in the last 3 months has become covered in algae and cyanobacteria. The rocks are 20 years old.. the tank 4 years and 8 months... I have not had a cyanobacteria or algae problem in 10 years : (. I tested phosphate 1 and nitrate 5.

Are my LEDs done? If yes I am going to start researching new options... I have not loved LEDs only...

photo of ugly tank…. If I Increase the intensity of my LEDs will that help / hurt? New lights are a year away financially:(. I just added more CUC - 3 emerald crabs, 10 snails, 4 hermits, sea urchin. I heard I need like 100 snails and hermits?? I let my CUC dwindle over the years b/c my tank did not have algae and I wanted my Red Sea Star to thrive and I have a large sand sifting Star .
