I had a bad bacterial bloom my ammonia has went to 2ppm I did a water change only 20% because that’s all I had and used a product that gets rid of ammonia. Is it possible me dosing alk caused a spike? I’m gonna try and get more water tomorrow sadly my blenny died in like 2 hours but the rest of my fish are still kicking.

What product did you dose for Alkalinity?

There is no product that removes ammonia - only water changes can do that.

Don't believe it if it says it does on the bottle.

There is also nothing in the Red Sea Alkalinity product that would cause a bacterial bloom.

How old is the tank and what else are you dosing?
