Have a blasto for few weeks now, and one polyp is declining and showing skeleton, others are looking cloudy / dull compared to arrival

They are right next to a different blasto colony that’s been doing well in this spot. Any ideas why one random polyp would be showing skeleton and why color is now hazy looking?

Can you see the skeleton on the underside? You might have something eating it

The light faded color makes me think bleaching but I doubt that’s it….

I’ve had blastos with some small recession spots respond well to iodine dips so maybe give that a try to see if it helps

I’ll have to buy it.
I do have coral rx and revive, neither have iodine afaik, but maybe it would help while I await iodine.

IME those can be somewhat harsher on things that are already receding.
Lugols is just straight iodine which is an antiseptic.

Too much light bro. You saw the pics of what happened to mine. I have others that get mad with too much flow. Some blastos will take anything you throw at it. It seems the nice ones are quite picky.

I don't know that it matters with Blastos so much but it looks like two different types of Blasto. My Merlettis and my Wellsi don't seem to like being in the same spot. Maybe light requirements or flow requirements are different? No sure. Also, my Merlettis grow rapidly while my Wellsi grow very slowly.

This is a possibility. My Wellsi seem to prefer full shade and my Wellsi like sandbed but direct light.

Here's my blasto sitting under the arch happy as could be. It's been about 3 weeks now.

Here's another sucking up 250 par and sps level flow

Here's some Blue ravens that don't mind par, but they hate flow so they sit in a corner beside a rock blocking flow

Merlettis in the light, Wellsi in the shade! Yep.
