Is it Hardy and a Fast Grower like the Green Slimer?

If so I have to get some.

Are there other Slimers out there besides Green and Blue?

It's hardy and yes, there are other colors. I have a purple w/bright blue tips A. yongei. I'll see if I can snag a pic before the lights go out tonight.

I have a newer piece that resembles the green with blue tip in color but looks much different than my green slimer - but it slimes like crazy when I touch it. I'll see if I cant find a pic.

Around here thats called the Old Skool Slimer or Blue Tip Slimer! Very sweet acropora!

I got this from a friend and I believe it is maricultured formosa. It doesnt slime like my green slimer. When it was in his tank it had a teal blue color, but once moved to mine all the new growth was a purplish/blue.

I have a purple slimer (was sold to me as purple slimer, it does slimy a lot even when barely touched)that looks very similar to that. Honestly is one of my fastest growing corals, I really love it.

Bump on this topic.

I would love to know where to get a true blue slimer. I have seen a lot of purple's and greens with a mix of blue tip colors.

Mike and Terry do you still have that blue tip? It was all blue when I saw it from what I remember but maybe you had just got it. I thought you said live aquaria? If so that's a score, I don't shop there much unless it's for odd species I want.

Nothing guys?

I believe what I have is a true blue slimer. Had it since it was a drag and has always been a solid deep blue with bright blue growth tips. Its definitely purple and hasn't ever shown any purple. I will post a pic, looking for some opinions on species.

I believe this is a true blue slimer. Took me years to find one that was always blue, I guess it just shows how rare they actually are.
Picture taken under 3 coral plus, 4 blue plus and one aquablue special. Sunlight was also lighting the tank through the window when these pics were taken. So its definitely daylight pics.

I am hoping this is not just a very fat formosa. I have never had a formosa with such fat branches, they are always thin. Coralites seem to look like a slimer to me too. Any opinions? The old school guys I talked too agreed it looks like a slimer.

It seems like it slimes up like a slimer but I haven't pulled it out of the water to find out if it really slimes up good. Anyways I have seen other stags slime up real bad so I don't think that would be a good Id method. Kind of hard because I have seen purple slimers grow much different than greens.

I have a blue diamond stag that fits the mold. I’ll see if I can get some pics later. Didn’t come to me labeled as a slimer, though it looks like one.

The more I handle the piece I posted the more it seems like it's not a slimer. The growth is too straight anyways but still, just as hard to find any solid blue stag as a solid blue slimer. Bump for anyone who has any leads to a blue or purple with blue tip slimer!
