Can anyone id this microscopic worm like parasite

I took a scrape from one of my dead fish and only found this under microscope . Is it some kind of parasite ?

Looks like a nematode. Some species are internal parasites. Externally, it is most likely a free living nematode trying to scavenge on the fish’s body. However, I have seen fish expel these after death, was it near its anal opening?

I just scraped the whole body couple of times . The fish was a dragonet .

You can also find nematodes that look like this everywhere in your aquarium. Sand, algae, skimmer sludge etc. So like Jay said, seeing them does not necessarily indicate they are causing disease.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
