I've always been interested in clove polyps, but never bought them because I heard they would grow over other corals. I'm seeing now on WWC they sell a piece of rock with clove polyps and zoas. Will the polyps grow over them? Or was I wrong in my understanding

Hard to say. Some corals are more aggressive than others, even if they are all zoas. On the other hand, I've had 2 sps coral grow right around each other and live together happily ever after.

I had firework cloves right next to Zoas and the FC ended up growing into and around the zoa colony. I just ended up pulling up all of the FC (they come off the rock and surrounding area easily) and gluing them on frag plugs to sell. If you love the coral go with it. They don’t spread as fast as GSP or pulsing Xenia and when they do grow it’s easy to pull them up.
