Critter or just pat of the Acan

Hello,

Looks like something is living in my Acan, not sure if this is part of the Acan, or a critter. Has about 8-10 tentacles that come out and retract to grab at food constantly. Is this normal or what is this thing? I've never seen any sort of body to it.
