My wife and I are on vacation and I thought some of the pictures might be interesting to my reefing friends even if we don't keep a lot of the fish and corals from here. And no, we haven't seen any Deep Water Curacao Basslets (way too deep). :)

those are wonderful

the part that is hard to consider was that you didn't bring along a hobby test kit, to read zero phosphates, so we could show that in natural waters algae still grows plenty just fine. That I could not tie this post into some handy algae battle threads was a little painful :)

not really the pics are wonderful reminds me of caymans east end '96

LOL brandon. No shortage of algae here. The reef is not very healthy at the moment. The divemasters blame it on damage from storms but I'm not sure what the reason is for the receding hard corals and the bountiful algae. Xenia or something just like it is everywhere.

Here's a video I shot two days ago. We came across an abandoned fish trap that had a large Green Moray caught in it as well as some butterfly fish, a couple of Sgt. Majors and some dead parrot fish. A couple of the group members managed to set him and the other fish free. We later wired the door shut so it couldn't happen again. Didn't include that in the video.

Didn't take many pictures today, just relaxed and enjoyed a couple of drift dives. Did see an octopus and the biggest dang feather duster I've ever seen, much bigger than my hand!
