So I've been thinking about a fish list for the new 180

So far I have this..

1 3" purple tang
1 3" yellow tang
1 2.5" hippo tang

4 Lyretail Anthias (have 1 already)
2 semi-snowflake clowns ( have 1)

5-7 Black Bar Chromis (maybe)
5-7 Blue Chromis (maybe)

And I was also thinking about a corris wrasse?
Or
Perhaps a harmen of Longfin fairy wrasse ( cirrhilabrus rubriventralis)

Thoughts?

Aw today I did something so stupid..

When I moved my system over to my new place I had about 60lbs of live rock that wouldn't fit in the tank or sump so it's been in a trashcan for about a week.. Well the power head I had in there apparently broke so when I opened it up today there was a nice little smell coming from the can..

So I figured ehhhh it doesn't look that bad.. Well about half way down through putting the rock in the tank a RANCID smell started coming up.. I immediately realized I was putting dead stinky rock into my system. I quickly ripped it all back out and started mixing water for a water change..

Soooo many dead critters in the bottom of the trash can when I dumped it out. The corals and tank look like they are alright after I just did a water change. I hope I didn't nuke the tank with death. We shall see.

So looks like I did get the rocks out in time and everything is stable.

Soo that's good. Ha

My girlfriend was passing through LA today and stopped at vivid to check
it out. She found these two little beauties and brought them home for me

Still plan on adding 2 more once I get the new display.
Both are still hiding right now but have started to peak out of the rock work to see what's going on.

I messed up with the LR the same way you did except I lost a ton of fish I had in there with it. :(

Nice looking girlies there D, I have tried them a few times and haven't had any luck. I probably don't feed enough for them.

It's a really lame situation. Especially once you realize what you've done and how it could of been easily avoided ha.

It seems everything is ok so hopefully it wasn't as bad as I thought.

Thanks man, they sure are pretty.
Yeah I'm really hoping these 2 make it. I have actually been keeping one my friend gave me for about a year now and it lived with him for over a year or more I believ. She's bigger than the other two newbies and used to be a male so I'm hoping she accepts the 2 new ladies and changes back to the male coloration.

Ok.. So I can't get these dang fish to eat.

I've tried the following with no success.

-live brine
-frozen mysis
- frozen other stuff
-frozen cyclopeez
-2 different pellets
-2 different flakes

Any other suggestions?

Of course the lyretail I have in there now eats pretty much all that stuff ha

I have had the best success getting my anthias off of frozen food, by feeding crushed up flake food. But the fish were already eating when I tried the flake, still might be worth a try.

FINALLY got the fish to eat. Took 6 days. Last night they started nipping on frozen cyclopeez a bit then tonight BOOM the bigger one can't get enough frozen mysis. The smaller is also eating but no where near as aggressive as the larger one. I'm so glad they are eating.. I was starting to worry.
