Do I need to treat this injury on my firefish

Hi,

Newb here. Does this look like something that needs to be treated? Showed up this morning. He was hiding a little more than usually, and maybe unrelated, but my ammonia badge got knocked off over night too.

I don't see much inflammation associated with it. Depending on how it happened, it may heal on its own. If it grows larger, or turns red, then you would start to suspect a secondary bacterial infection. Treatment for that, especially if the fish stops eating, (a bad sign) would be a broad spectrum, gram negative antibiotic in a treatment tank.
