Bro a little would go a long way. Bad thing is they eat your snails once the algae is gone. Get larger snails

Here are a few photos taken yesterday for algae growth comparison.

The 50 additional turbo snails have made a difference but barely noticeable. The BRS high-capacity GFO should arrive today.

The brown-stringy-bubbly algae looks distressingly like dinoflagellates to me. (I really hope I'm wrong!)

The tank is absolutely gorgeous, algae aside - a happy playground for those fish!

Thank you very much. At first I thought Dino as well, but manual removal is very difficult and the algae are like tufts of hair. The odd thing is they were green but have slowly been turning a brownish red color over the past few days. Not sure what that's about.

I'll shoot a picture tonight of the magnetic frag rock which was covered. A few days and a few snails later, it is almost all white.

I had a bad case of dinos in my sps dominated tank and actually did bleach dosing for 14 days. It was either do that or quit entirely and I am glad I did it, bc it got rid of the dinos. It has been almost 2 months and no more dinos. Other than the algae issues, I love your tank and it is amazing work!

Wow awesome tank. That just put my new 240 to shame haha. I really want to go bare bottom but I feel obligated to keep my diamond goby that was my first fish and only original from my first tank 7 years ago. Good stuff [emoji106]

I'm in the process of building a 180g. I just ordered a 60" ATI fixture and my canopy is very similar to yours. How is your heat issue going? What fans are you running and how are they controlled? Great looking tank.

This update has been overdue for quite some time. First a few photos and then some big news...

Now for the big news... My family and I are moving across the state and the tank is being relocated within the next two weeks. Reef Savvy will be handling the relocation for us and is building a new stand as the tank will be going in-wall in our new home.

The plan is to upgrade the lighting to a mix of metal halide and reef bright LEDs and make some other minor changes on the equipment side. I will document the move well on this thread and expect to continue updating with more frequency at the new house.

Thank you very much. It's a great move for our family.

We considered setting up a qt tank at the time of the move, but honestly, we are barely going to be able to keep the move on track. Adding that dynamic/complication isn't something we are willing to do. Haven't seen any ick in months. Let's see how they do with the move.

Going to try to document the move thoroughly. Thanks for the well-wishes.

Almost time. You gotta swing by before the Big move. In case you need a storage facility for a pair of x hatches!
