Hey all this is my tank. It's close to wear I want it, minus the fact that corals need to grow out. Equipment, position, etc-wise most things is as they should be. I love softies and my tank is dominated by them. There a couple things I need to do but first my equipment list:

Equipment:

- 40Br tank with Stand and Canopy
- RotR rocks plus some liverock pieces that were used for seeding. (I am the owner of Reef on the Rocks)
- 40lbs of my own Aragonite sand. (Same stuff that I use in my rock production)
- 4 X 24 watt HO T5's (Don't remember bulbs.. but one 10K, 2 X Blue pluses, and an actinic I think)
- 1 X Vortech MP10 with DIY battery back up (Should last about 70-some hours)
- Filtration is a bit weird:
- It's the body of an Octopus BH-100F skimmer, but used as a sump.
- Phosban 150 w/ carbon and phosban mixed together.
- Ranco (Dual) with 2 X 75 watt stealths and a lasko vent fan for cooling.
- Milwaukee SMS122 pH controller (Use it to monitor only)
- Auto top off (Water only) w/ Aqualifter + 6G reservoir.

Typical maintenance:

- BRS two-part for typical reef tanks (Dosed daily)
- BRS Magnesium (Dosed weekly)
- 5G water change using Reef Crystals (Weekly)
- Try to scrape walls off weekly... "try"

Things I need/want to do:

- Paint "reef room" that I patched the holes and stuff.
- Re-brush off the two "algae rocks" that were seeding rocks (They came from a poorly done tank). I am just trying to leech the rest of the phosphate from the seeder live rock b/c I like the corals on them too much.
- Need to get water tested just to see where I am... it's been a while.
- Need to get more water through the pre-skimmer to take care of the water-surface scum.
- Need to super scrape the walls and vinegar the pre-skimmer box, plus the Vortech's wet side.

Updated Reef Nook and some Night Shots

I did some major maintenance on the tank. While I was at it, I took some updated pictures. Here's what was done as of late:

- Added moonlights (Used car LEDs.. cheap and came with spares).

- Cleaned and painted Reef Nook.

- Cleaned out my custom "HOB sump" via vinegar (Much needed!)

- Replaced both GFO and Carbon in Phosban Reactor and adjusted pump flow. I have a nifty doohickey I devised considering the sump is a little specially made. It ensures the dust from the GFO and carbon doesn't flood into my tank.

- I also changed my tank food. I am now using Hikari's small pellet food as I feel its much better for the diet of my fish. I don't think the I.O. gel foods were cutting it. As soon as I started using it the fish started looking and acting much better.

On to the pics!

Sweet tank!

Since you like softies you should look into some exotic shrooms to put as a center piece under the leds!

Thanks guys!

Skinz! Long time no see, reminds me that I haven't been on that other site in quite a while. I am loving your 120 build!

KLR - I love the videos of your tank, do you have a build on here? I couldn't find it. :xd:

I would like to find some nice mushrooms, but I guess I just haven't been hit with one yet. Truth be told I am trying to have a lot of few corals in my tank. I love seeing whole colonies of corals in people's tanks... it's definitely what I'm striving for. Hopefully I have the patience for it!

LOL I haven't ether, been too busy lately to even look at it.

I do know that Reef Odyssea has a sweet Jolly Rancher shroom right now that they are selling.

Heh.. no way I am going to pay shipping for a single coral! I was REAL tempted to get 13 corals from Mr. Coral a couple days ago. But I then thought it would have made my tank look crowded. :nerd:

Funny thing that happened... I changed out the carbon/phosban in my phosban reactor and it apparently caused on of my leathers to freak out and produce two frags of itself. The frags and mother are all fine with polyps out and all. :)

Nah I need to, but my new baby wasn't exactly participating today... he's decided that naps are for losers until he started having fits!

Hey Phil! Everything's pretty good, been busy since our move to South Carolina. Between a new baby and a new business I am surprised I am still standing. How's life treating you? What tank do you have now??

Good to hear! What type of business are you running? I've currently have a 120g but I'm in the process of setting up a 4x4x2ft

Nice you need to set up a thread on your tank.. I wanna see photos :)

I have a small business called Reef on the Rocks. I manufacture base rock sold to retailers (I'm a wholesaler). You'll see some photos in a sec.. I just took a bunch of my tank to share :D

Photo time! - Warning I am a terrible photo and editing person!

I use a point and shoot camera, and I use picasa and just hit "I'm feeling lucky" button, then save. :xd:

A couple of things I need to do:

- I need to razor my tank again... it's been too long and I have massive OCD.

- My new overflow is getting built! It will replace that clear overflow, but will also house a small pump to create extra siphon. Soon enough my surface scum issue will be gone!

- You'll see a couple rocks that are starting to get some flimsy algae on it. Those are the rocks that came from another tank (Way overfed tank that needed help). Thus far they have been brushed 3 times, and are slowly starting to finish leeching out whatever phosphates they absorbed over time. Huzzah!

On to the pictures!

The last three pics are close-ups of my rocks that I manufacture for wholesale. I use my tank as a demonstration to retailers and for my own fun:
