While I was doing a water change today one of my engineer gobies swam up to the hose and went for a ride. I guess they are so accustomed to my hand meaning they are getting fed that he just swam right up to it. While riding through the hose a chunk of his skin was torn off. Is this a recoverable injury? He seems to be swimming and breathing normally, but I've never dealt with this type of trauma before.

I recently bought two of them one of them had a patch of skin damage towards its tail. I didn't do anything and it seemed to heal itself. That one there is larger than what i encountered. I would keep my eye on it. Hopefully no bacteria affects the area. Not sure how to help.
