Noticed this evening my Favia war coral all the mouths were gaping, and some brown stuff came out of a couple of the mouths. Is it just pooping, or is this something else possibly?? I am a beginner so this is all new to me, thanks in advance!! Oh, sorry I did not get a pic.

Usually when brown stuff comes out it's poo...I've had zoas palys nems and hammers do this to me.
Something may be specific with that coral so definitely wait for more replies but in my experience, it's just poo lol

I've had it probably 3 or 4 weeks. It looks normal now.

They might be slightly different. I mean...if a coral is bleaching it can release its zooxanthellae (holy crap auto correct recordnized it) but it can also do it if it's just excess nutrients.

Maybe someone else can elaborate on brown jelly disease?
Not sure if that's specific to torches/hammer etc. I've never seen my acans do that.
Good luck :)
