YAY! After months of searching for a nice 2 1/2" - 4" Bluespot, i found one!

He's been in my LFS's tank for about a week. Created his burrow in the holding tank and is eating mysis and pellets. Around 3- 4" inches long, very nice size. Price tag on him was $99, so not too bad of a price at all.

I bought some plexiglass for anti-jumping purpose and cut it to size. Prepared some nice bulky crushed coral for him in area so he can build anywhere he wants, also added some regular sand to meet his standards for building his home. :)

Picking him up tommorrow, and maybe a couple peices of coral!

Good for you! I'd love to have one of these guys someday, they're super cute and have great personality :) I hope yours does well for you, from what I've heard their track record past 1 year isn't all that great :(

Those are awesome fish. Everytime I read that someone has gotten one my thoughts start to plan out a nano DSB for nothing but a couple.
Glad you got it. Post some pics soon.

I Loved my bluespot. Sadly he jumped through a spot i never thought he'd fit. I ordered a new one but it arrived dead, so i decided to wait a bit before the next try.

Picked him up today. Only part of my tank that he can escape is right by the return but i did a ghetto fix of just taping that small area off. Already acclimated him and he's getting settled in. :) Will update later in the week.

This is one of the first few days that I added mine. I have had mine for about a year now. He has collected every dead shell and small live rock frag and made a pretty sweet burrow under a 30lb live rock. There is also a bright geen and purple Merletti frag growing over the entrance to the burrow. Great fish once they are settled, get ready for a sand storm until they do though......

Not that i know of. If they are i would assume it's only the crabs shell they are after for the burrow and not the crab itself...lol.

Mine has already changed his place 3 times since when i got him this afternoon. Information says if acclimated correctly, they will make a formal burrow under the cover of the first night.
