Thanks for tagging along, prsnlty! And thanks for the comments! :) I'm hoping it works out the way I'm planning!

Here's some pictures of what I accomplished last night. Nothing much, as I was pretty tired from my real job, but it's something. I should get a lot more done today... laziness pending, of course. :)

I suck at woodwork, but I just slapped some runner boards in there and used 3" decking screws into the studs of the wall. Then, to get my top shelf proportioned correctly, I used that level. Since it's only 48" across in that little section, the level works out perfectly to line things up from one side to the other. It's always better that way, and alleviates second guessing on measurements. All things considered, it doesn't need to be absolutely, perfectly level... But, it helps to know that it will be. :)

More to follow later today... uh... hopefully... :D

Bottom shelf.

Smarter, not harder. ;)

Here's the 100g vat up on top.

It could work this way, too... No real need for this, though.

Going to pick up some more water containers for the bottom shelf, now. BRB!

Here's the last shot of everything, before the plumbing begins:

2012-09-29_23-59-04_587.jpg

I was only able to fit two 35g water containers on that shelf where I wanted 60g ones. I'll have to go custom if I decide to change that out in the future. I think the 35's will do fine, though.

Also, I don't seem to have enough room for the sump down there. My wife "has to have" the kitty litter box down there, so there's no way everything will fit the way I was planning. I'm going to keep the sump under the stand for now. I may move it later, but it should be fine for now.

I have more bulkheads to buy before I start the plumbing... Glad some of our LFS' are open tomorrow... er... today.

I still need to get some smaller bulkheads for the front of the smaller containers. The float valve is in the 100g container right now, and it is slowly filling with water as I type. So far, I know for sure that the bulkhead on the 100g container doesn't leak, and my manifold is leak free, as well. :)

Right on man! Welcome aboard!

Right now I'm just trying to get rid of this PVC glue/cleaner buzz, by watching the game. LOL!

Okay, so tonight, my daughter had too much homework to go to Kradee Klazz. So, we stayed home. I got a little accomplished tonight.

Yesterday, or the day before (getting old), I purchased a Little Giant 4-MDQ-SC external pump to mix my saltwater up, and push the water to the sump under the display. I'll be adding another valve later, but for now, I really need to get some salt mixed up. Here's some pics of what I've done so far... I haven't test run it yet, for leaks, but will later:

Please pardon the mess. :)

And that's that... well... so far.

So, I went ahead and got the water level over the top of the bulkhead fitting that goes to the intake of the pump:

Then, I fired it up! Watching closely at this area, because I suspected a leak would happen here first:

None! Whew!!! (I hate external pumps)

Hoping this video link works. No leaks!

Alright, so I'm pretty sure that I don't like this Little Giant pump! It appears to be getting louder as I go. I'll probably get rid of it when I can...

This weekend, I watched a lot of football and my stupid garbage disposal started leaking. I had to swap that out, and I'm really happy with my new one... I digress...

All I did this weekend is start curing my dead rock. I'll throw a Galveston damsel after the bacteria destroys the shrimp I threw in there.
