Friendly reminder about Bumblebee Snails

They are predators.

I keep them in my tank to eliminate Vermatid Snails which they do a good job on, but if they get hungry well this happens.

Taking down a Astraea snail almost twice its size.

Large healthy snails really have pretty much nothing to fear from bumblebee snails, but it's useful not to overstock them.
Agreed. Kind of why this one surprised me. Little guy must have been real hungry. Even separated them mid attack and the Astraea had enough strength to seal his shell. Then later one of my Nassarius climbed all the way up into the rock work to feed on him after he passed. Such is the circle of life. I'm not even upset. Bumblebees are worth their weigh in gold. I can always go get another Astraea for less than $2.

The Bumble definitely killed it and began to feed on it though.

Me too, definitely worth loosing Astraea or 2 every now and again. Honestly though it's my first time seeing one do it and it wasn't a full grown mature Astraea.
