Hey everyone I have been lurking for the better part of a decade. I have had many reef tanks starting the hobby in 2013. It all started with a 93 cube then a 180 then a 250dd and now a 75 since I moved into my new place with. Few others I’m sure I forgot about lol. Well enough about me let’s get this build goin

I finished my basement to accommodate this aquarium as the focal point of the room. Directly behind the tank is my current fishroom which will have the wall cut open once the tank is on the stand.

the tank is 84x36x26 tall it’s all glass and built by Glass Cages It features low iron glass, armored seams and a 48" ghost overflow with 3- 2" drains by brian @ exotic marine with a closed loop for some added flow.

I ordered the aquarium 11-22-23 hoping to see it by the end of January 2024 so I can fabricate the stand.

will ad many more details this week time for bed

Not much happening tank was re ordered with Joe from glass cages. Super excited they are a dream to work with. Sump is being finished up by Clear fabrications out of Seattle. GREAT COMPANY to work with with reasonable pricing.

Love it, nothing like getting a new aquarium. It puts all the engineering, chemistry, biology and physics to the test. :)

I'll be following. I'm curious to see how the tank is constructed, especially the bracing and seams.

Volume will be closer to 670 gallons, right?

ok Joe has been paid on the tank and we are finalizing some closed loop stuff

do you guys think the closed loop coming through the euro braces on top with 2x 2" suction ports 12" off the bottom on back glass returning to 6 3/4" outputs on the top trim

OR

2x 2" holes in back glass feeding through 2x 1.25" holes slightly lower and out wider making a U shaped multi head device under the sandbed with t's and locline on valves shooting water in many directions and connecting two pumps together making it pressurized from both ends

see amateur sketch haha
