Hi, im building a 475 gallon/1800 litre aquarium in my garage (300x120x50cm)
what material would be appropriate for building a stand? Ive got 3 ideas so far, aluminium v slot, classic diy plywood stand or one made out of cinder blocks.
The aluminium is very expensive and i'm trying to save as much money as I can with this aquarium (I know, smaller=cheaper)
The plywood, i'm not sure I trust my woodworking skills and I don't a 2 tonne aquarium collapsing on my garage floor
The cinderblocks are cheap and very sturdy but I want to try to avoid using cement if possible
Any Ideas?

PS: instead of buying 1 large 3 meter pane of glass im going to buy 2 smaller ones and join them in the middle. What should I frame the tank with?

My stand for my 300 gallon is DIY made from 2x4 and ply and handled 7.1 earthquake fine.
I might ask one of the local tradies if he can build one for me, I would do it myself if it was under 200 gallons but anything above that I just can't trust myself

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
