Hi everyone.

I am in the process of setting up my new to me 120g tank. This is my first tank with an overflow and a sump (coming from a Biocube AIO tank) and it is very loud. Im not sure if there is something that can be done to quiet this down but would appreciate any help and suggestions.

I believe the two overflows are Durso style and there is a mix of hard and soft plumbing. Not sure if changing the one flexible pipe on the right overflow to hard pvc will solve it? I added a video here and can take more videos / pictures if needed.

Appreciate any help!

lots of air in the lines, shortening the standpipes so they're submerged might help. also you want the outlets to be an inch or so below the drain chamber in the sump.

OK.
Shorten stand pipe. Place a T on the top.
Insert a street elbow pointed down on one side a cap on the top.
Drill a hole big enough for airline tubing and put in a small piece.
You now shouldn't see the stand pipe looking directly at the tank which looks better anyways.
Both drain lines should have a valve, preferably a gate valve, much easier to fine tune, but ball valve is OK.
You're running a lot of water through there.
I have a 75 and only run about 200 gph through it but to each their own.
If you have a dc pump, easier to fine tune but now with all of these things in place you should be able to tune it for noise.
And @TX_REEF gave good suggestions as well.
Hope that helps.
Other professionals on here can chime in too but this worked for me.
Any questions just ask!

Awesome thank you both for the suggestions. When you say to shorten the standpipe, should the entire durso valve be underwater with just the cap with the hole on top out of the water?

Yes.
The stand pipe will never quite be out of the water per se, but,yes you get the idea!
