You want between 3x to 10x flow turnover in the tank. For your size 5x is plenty. 10g with rocks equals 7g volume so multiply by 5 and you have 35gph needed out of your pump. The key to nano tanks is weekly water changes.

No, use the pump rating to guide your choice of alternate pumps. The pump that is supposed to be used with this tank is the one I posted - rated at approx 100gph. (and that's 100 gph when run unobstructed, it doesn't account for pushing the water up to the top of the tank).

Everyone here is the best! Thanks so much guys! I got home from work, started in first chamber and once I got to the bottom of chamber there was a piece of the white coarse sponge that was “clogging” the small triangle space that allows the water to flow to next chamber. Worked perfectly!

Can’t thank everyone enough

Another question since yall helped me … water is already mixed With salt and its RODI. Tanks been up over 2 weeks almost 3 … is this the ugly phase or turn whites down??? Everything is getting that brown. Glass cleaner rocks etc

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
