I just received an order of copepod and live plankton from Algae Barn. I was expecting to "see" the copepod but it looks like I got a $25 bag of detrus. I added it to my system anyway and have ordered another batch via Reef2go. Now I'm questioning the "live phytoplankton. Has anybody else had this experience? Did I add detrus and is my plankton really live?

Yeah Mike, that's It. I got the Impression that they would look like the video on the Reef2go site. I added them to my system anyway though...

I don't know about that specific order but I had gotten tisbe pods a while back and they are extremely tiny and I didn't actually see them either when I added them to the tank.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
