In a month I'm gonna start saving up for a Reef Casa XL (20 gallons). I will have this tank for a while so I wanted some high end nano fish.

All I have planned for now is a golden assessor and 2 designer clowns

Lmk your favorite high end nano fish, and where from $100-$300

TIA!

If you're looking for high end a Deepwater candy basslet is a good choice, usually don't see them for less than 500 these days though.
Yeah that's a little TOO high end :grinning-face-with-sweat:
Besides, the tank is gonna be SPS dominated and I don't feel it's ethically right to put a wild caught fish that's used to high water pressure and low light into a shallow tank with bright light

I agree and good on you for making the responsible choice! Swissgard basslets are less light sensitive and actually fall in your price range these days as they've gotten pricier (also look just as cool as the candy's imo)

They're being captive bred now too!
There is even a white form. Very cool.

Geez those are so dang beautiful. But 1k dollars... idk if i can justify that :grinning-face-with-sweat: but thanks for letting me know that fish exist!
Not "cheap" at all, but the ones being captive bred now by biota are around 600, and this is the first or second batch as they released this year, so I expect in a year or 2 they'll be closer to the 150-250 price tag of the biota yellow tangs

Haha you said high end!

My advice: find beautiful healthy examples of fish you like. Not all specimens of a species are equally nice. Really put the time into finding especially good ones. High end is all subjective and honestly often dictated by where harvesting is currently harder/easier. I have seen $20 fish that are positively radiant.

Might look for one of those in my big tank I plan to set up in roughly 5 years
