Today i am at day 23 from the cycle. I started with dryrocks, live sand and seawater. At this moment im dosing daily/weekly several bottles bacteria and Red sea energy AB+ for corals

Im planning on dosing with red sea Mg, Ca, Kh and nopox but in the beginning a weekly 10% water change should be enough right?

2 days ago i put in my first easy corals i couldn't wait any longer haha. That day (day21) i also tested all the parameters.

Temp 23.6°/ 74.5F Hanna
Salinity 1.023 Hanna
Ph 8.15 Salifert/ ph pen
NH3 0 Salifert
NO2 4 Salifert
NO3 20.5 Hanna
PO4 0.16 Hanna
CA 420 Salifert
MG 1300 Salifert
KH 8.9 Hanna

I got my own RODI setup behind the reeftank and i use tropic marine pro reef salt

As soon as nitrite is 0 i will add my first 2 snowstorm clownfish with 2blood and 2 cleaner shrimp with some snails.

I would love to see tips about everything and hope to have a good time her on Reef2Reef!

Greetings Davy

That's a very clean and nice setup! (I particularly liked the tubing for the RODI unit) You'll love your Nyos 160 skimmer!
I’m jealous of your organization! Very beautiful tank and setup! Excited to see
Thanks a lot for reaction!

I am also very happy with the RODI setup! It all takes some time but its all worth it at tbe end haha

I hope so ive read good reviews about the nyos 160 at this moment its been running for 4 days and i still see microbubbles in the displaytank and sump. Also i still hear a 'brumming' sound from the pump in the nyos hope this will get quiet in the next days..

It's a real workhorse. Mine runs very quiet (at least insofar as compared to my return pumps), but I also have it at the back of the sump and there's a lot of stuff probably dampening it to some extent. Microbubbles should disappear really quickly; you can try lifting the skimmer (while operational) out of the sump until you hear this suck/whoosh sound - and that may solve your issue (it sometimes gets stuck and churns water - which can lead to the microbubbles).

Okee thanks for the reaction and advice!

So you mean i just need to lift it out the sump while its on and i need to make sure the pump makes that suck/whoosh sound and then put it back in the sump. Isn't this bad for the pump?

Haha and what returnpump are u using ? Doe you know if it is louder then the vectra m2?

Ill soon put 2 3L media reactors in the sump do you mean that that might lower the sound of the skimmer?

Yes, exactly. I figure it can't be any worse than not working the way it's supposed to when it gets stuck.

I'm running a Sicce ADC 9.0. It's fairly loud. Not so much the pump's problem as I seem to have found the perfect harmonic frequency that resonates through the cabinet.

You probably won't notice the sound of the skimmer in a few months after you're completely broken it in.

Thanks a lot! This was the first time i bought pipe fish but indeed they are unfortunatly hard to keep.. i had them for about 2 weeks since last weekend when i woke up foundig this.. only 1 left

Update week 34. A lot has been changed last weeks. New scape, new fish and new corals
At this moment i have the Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis and the Paracheilinius cyaneus in the small isolation boxes, they still very camera shy.
