I bought this blenny last Saturday, every morning its belly is sunken, but towards noon after it eats the belly looks normal. It poops a ton and acts normally otherwise. Is this short of food or is it some kind of disease?

It has been eating algae off the glass and occasionally off the rock. My lfs said they had it for a few wks and was feeding ocean nutrition formula 2 and ocean nutrition prime reef flake. I have tried ocean nutrition formula 1 and 2, a different brand of flake, frozen mysis, nori between rocks, and its not responding to any of these.

TIA

These blennies can be tough to feed - they prefer algae, but may not get enough or the right type of algae in your tank.
The being skinny in the morning is normal in that they don’t feed in the dark.
Keep trying to get it to feed on something else. Maybe algae wafers (Hikari makes them I think). It should graze on nori, keep trying that. Also try a slice of zucchini attached to a rock with a rubberband.

LFS told you wrong, While they need algae in their diet, they pound and gnaw on rock all day for calcium which is much needed in their diet and also meats such a chopped krill, mysis shrimp, small plankton and shrimp
