How to evaluate a wave pump? What are the advantages of a good wave pump?

There are gyres and powerheads. First, your budget is going to determine what you include in your search. Second, you’ll want the total flow of any wavemaker(s) to range between 5-20x your tank volume. Third, what features do you want - WiFi, programability, easy cleaning and maintenance, etc.

Brands to consider are AI, Innovative Marine, EcoTech, Maxspect, Red Sea and Tunze.
