Hello everyone,

I got a question about feeding gonios
Atm I am feeding it like almost every day with a mix of reef roids , codepods and cyclops and planning to add phytoplankton later on. But I don’t really know how many times a week ? Can it be couple days in a row or need to spread it over the week ? All help is welcome . Because I finally found the balance to keep gonios after 7 attempts, there new to the tank but prev gonios didn’t even open these do.

I never feed mine anything and they are perfectly healthy.

Feed the fish and they feed the coral all they need.
I'd consult @Garf on anything to do with goniopora...I'm not sure if yours are photosynthetic or not but most are NPS and he's highly successful with them

Sorry, I was thinking gorgonians haha

To clarify, I'm just answering the question "What is NPS". Gorgonians for example are notoriously beautiful but the majority need to be fed because they lack zooxanthellae

Goni's don't need to be fed, its very rare that I do feed mine, maybe once every 2 months... the light is the corals primary source of energy and health.

But I would not feed more often than every 2 days, they take a couple of days to devour food, so feeding daily means that you are adding more food before it can devour the previous meal, so the coral will rot from inside out if fed too often.

Not to mention that you will dirty the water quickly if you are feeding every day, water quality is more important than feeding corals.
