Won this coral by bid just over a year ago. It was listed as ‘yellow eyed favia’. It was like 1 inch in size when i got it. It grows slow but it suddenly will have a growth spurt sometimes. Its now on a 2 inch plate cause it over grew the one it came on. I realised the polyps are getting bigger as it grows? They were small when i first got it now they’re maybe double the size. Im wondering if its a favia or a favites. There was not any clear seperation between each polyp last time but now i can see it. So im abit confused. It looks diff now that it had grew

It is definitely not a favia as after a reclassification some years ago, favia is an Atlantic only species.

Using traditional classification that the vast majority of the hobby still uses that looks like it would be a favia rather than a favite. At least in the second pic it seems to me there are distinct walls for each head rather than shared walls (but my eyes are not too good anymore). To encrustingacro's point there are not really many/any true favia left in the hobby after reclassifications over the years.
