I just noticed this little guy today. Recently pick up some coral frags so I'm guessing he hitched a ride on one. I'm guessing it's a seastar? If he's not a pest I'd like to keep him healthy and happy. Any help is appreciated

I can’t see the attachment. However most likely an asterina which is a pest. Others might disagree, but they almost covered my front glass a few tanks ago

Yep asterina. It's a contentious one in the hobby. There are a ton of different varieties of these things. Almost all ime are harmless but a few munch things like zoas. They can grow to plague proportions. You'll get tons of opinions good and bad on them. I personally like them even when they were a plague before my leopard wrasse started eating them.
