Did you ever play that one on SNES? This was a notorious extremely difficult game to beat, and that was by design. There's no telling how many times I rage quit this one as an 8 year old.

They made it basically impossible to beat during the heart of the rental era so that you couldn't grab it from Blockbuster on a Friday and beat it over the weekend. They were trying to make you rent it multiple times.
