So I am starting a new project. Still working the details but here is the start.

For the Tubs I will be using two 50G Rubbermaid stock tanks and a 110G Tough Stuff stock tank as the sump. Approximately 180G system. DCT-12000 for the return, some wavemakers for movement in each tub and an ATI 8 bulb Dimmable Sunpower as the backbone of the system. I plan on adding a few actinic led strips into the mix as well. I also picked up two 250w Ehiem heaters for redundancy. I will be using a ReefKeeper lite for the first time and I am pretty excited about trying out all the new toys!!

I did a Rubbermaid sump recently, if you're going to use uniseals to plumb some pipes in prepare for a struggle. I found I had to really chamfer the pipe at a long angle to get it through. My elbow still hurts from wailing on it with a rubber mallet. Good times!

Jeremy,

We had 2 8bulb t5 fixtures on our set up (same as yours..2. 50g troughs).

You might want to consider a second light.

And I would highly recommend uniseals. You don't want leaks.

Lots to do to get ready for this one. Including an upgrade from my 57G Reef to a 90 and my 36G planted to a 90(side by side I am excited about this!!), building a platform for the Tubs and a stand for the planted tank. Along with a full rearrangement of the basement to make this work. I also need to make room for a ping pong table for my kids (and me [emoji12])!

Lots to do and I am excited about it, however it's going to take a few weeks. I will be updating as I go, so keep an eye out!
