I am new to this forum. Kudos to a well thought out design. The tank is incredible, as is your tenacity for perfection. I have a question about the room the tanks are housed. Is this a functioning garage?. It looks like you life in the DFW area which is smothering HOT in the summer. How will you keep the room stable for tank temperature, or are you relying on the chiller/heater?
It is a functioning garage converted for exclusive use for aquarium(No more cars or storage). I will keep the garage door and install insulation around the inside of door when heat gets up. I have installed 2 100cfm bathroom vent fans directly over the tank that will be controlled by a humidistat on the APEX. I have also had inline fans installed over the garage area in the attic. Walls and ceiling have been ultra insulated. A ductless AC system is being installed for the garage as well for constant room temp and the chiller/heater will not have to work nearly as much with this scenario I am hoping. And yes summers here will stay around 100F for what seems forever so heat is a major concern with the build. We shall see but I am expecting around 5-7 gpd evaporation.

Hammerhead gold return pumps came in today. Plumbing will commence!
Also have the new powervent that has been installed to control the attic area above the garage. This was necessary due to attic space over garage being cut off from ventilation by another upstairs room. The air had no way to escape and would have been a heat sink but no worries going forward. AC will be installed Monday or Tuesday. Change of plans as the HVAC rep talked me into a 2Ton dedicated unit over a ductless split system. He will also be hooking up the 220 for the chiller.
Plumbing should be done today. I will post some pics of the progress. Thursday 800lb liverock will be aquascaped and 1 1/2" sand will be poured. I will also be using about 250lb liverock from previous 225 gall. in the sump for filtration. Water then will finally enter and hopefully can have it full by next weekend.

working on last return hammerhead gold return. One return will supply chiller and each side of tank, the other return will have manifold and tee off for water changes to drain.

Here are a couple shots of the final plumbing that was finished today!!
Notice the return pump on the right has a closed valve leading to the left. That is the drain line and will allow me to close the 2 return valves and open it to empty sump volume for water changes.

Couple more shots of the final plumbing. Cant wait to get back from trip and get rock work started Thursday afternoon. Will also add sand and water on Thursday!!! Getting excited about this more by the day. They will also be installing a light rack that will house the 4 400W Metal Halides and the 4 AI Hydras. The entire rack will be mounted and able to be retracted out of the way of the tank if necessary for cleaning.

Sorry for the confusion. All the shots are from the garage fish room view where all the equipment resides. The tank is 4 foot wide and is flush with inside kitchen sheet rock. Next week a woodworker will be installing cabinets on the top of tank from inside view. I will provide pics when completed. Thanks for looking.

Check out the design of the stand and the lip that sticks out on the left side. This also braces into the wall around 40 inches high and sits the tank flush with the inside of the house (kitchen).
