Like a bristle worm but BLACK!

Is this a bobbit worm? Came off my Tampa Bay Saltwater live rock I bought about a month ago. This is the second one I’ve found since. Here it is with a bristle worm for comparison.

From the pic I don't think it's a Eunice worm (bobbit-type). Bobbits, the ambush predator that most people think of, are from the indo pacific, not the gulf. But there are many species of Eunice worms and some species do come in on gulf rock.

That’s a relief. I just hope whatever it is, if there’s more, it doesn’t munch on my corals. Maybe it could keep my amphipod population under control.

Never have too many amphipods! If they're a problem, get a wrasse!
