Hi all,

It has been over 4 years since I had to sell my Red Sea Reefer 170, and I am finally back in the hobby with a smaller version of Fluval Sea Evo 13.5G! I had replaced original lights with AI Prime 16HD (Using Eddie Putra AquaIllumination Signature). I am running the tank without a skimmer and performing bi-weekly water changes. In the aquarium 13lbs of live rocks. The tank is 4 months old, and I conducted a DrTim's fishless cycling until it was ready for livestock. Currently in the aquarium, I have 2 clownfish, 3 sexy shrimp, 2 red-legged hermit crabs, 1 blue-legged hermit crab, 3 Astrea snails, 3 Nassarius snails, and 1 Trochus snail. From the corals, I have alveopora, candy canes, chalice, a few mushrooms, papaya clove polyp, and a Kenya tree.

I am not currently dosing anything; however, I am considering adding a small amount of phytoplankton.

In terms of parameters: 78.8 degrees Celsius, pH = 8.0, ammonia = 0, nitrite = 0, nitrate = barely detectable, phosphate = 0.01, salinity = 1.025.

I was wondering if, in terms of bioload, it's okay with a pair of clownfish, or should I introduce one more small fish to slightly increase my nitrates? However, I don't want it to be too much since I'm not using a skimmer. Any advice from Evo owners would be highly appreciated!

I wouldn't add another fish. (My opinion)
Clowns can be territorial and your rock work doesn't really have place for more.

I agree
The clowns will grow and provide more nitrate, but you can also dose as an option to get nitrate up.
My pair wouldn’t tolerate anyone else in their space (they’re in there after terrorizing a 40B).
