ok folks, even Ann, but she's busy. question. What is the difference between a chalice and say, an acan echinata? favia? They look the same.
Theyre all encrusting type corals but they will have different skeletal structures. Chalices will look more like a plate, favias have more prominent corallites (the structure that gives them the rounded shaped polyps) and en echinata is like a mix of the two lol

They still look kinda like acans, just less fluffy and more bone-y.

And underrated. Usually people see frags of echinata, but colonies are ludicrous color. Very violent, and strong stings though.
