10 gallon Aqueon tank with a 5 gallon drum cut to about 10.25" length to act as a kreisel, sealed with silicone cured for 48 hours. Two windows that are 120 micron nylon mesh of about 4" by 3". Adjustable submersible pump/filter hybrid connected with two feet of 1/2" inner diameter silicone tubing.
4lbs of dry reef rock added with a partially filled aquarium heated currently at 78 degrees Fahrenheit heated with 75W Eheim JAGER heater. Currently it is in the lowest flow. Attempting to cycle with MicroBacter Start before adding in any adult Lybia tessellata.
Order of 6 Lybia c.f. tessellata just arrived today. Buying large groups is often difficult due to their sparse offering and popularity. They are currently being held in the main display tank until the kreisel tank system is finished cycling, which may take more than seven days. None of the new specimens arrived berried, so it will be some time before any potential zoeae can be experimented with. Luckily all of the specimens have anemones on both arms. However, some fighting between the crabs was observed today, this was not the typical fighting seen between two individuals where one lacks anemones as both specimens had two anemones. More information about collection region will be attempted to be gathered from the retailer in order to verify the species with more certainty. It is unlikely they are Lybia edmondsoni since Hawaii collection is very sparse during these times.
Below is two of the 6 specimens obtained today.
