All of mine never looked better. You probably didn't have them in enough light or they were being shaded. LED's have really direct light so it is important to find out where your hot spots are. Mine were being shaded at first an didn't look good, so I moved them and wham more color then ever.

Here is a few link from the guy. He owns a company called Alpheus, and he tested his LED fictures on this tank, gathering frags from forum members. . .

Have fun watching :)

If ever there was an advertisement for sick corals those pictures are it. I'm not sure I would blame LEDs without knowing a great deal more but I certainly do NOT think those pictures support LEDs as being good for SPS and in particular pinks or reds. The purples look o.k., but the pink seriatopora is dying.

Very interesting input everyone. Glad that LEDs are coming around and tanks are maturing. Props to those who pioneer the new lighting ;)

The person was given many frags from many people, in different health shapes. The "dying one" picture is from 2009 is 2 month after start of the experiment, the frag was in much worse state before (see former photo from april 2009, and this one from june 2009). Scroll to the bottom of the gallery and there are some pictures of other birdsnest in 2010. (I think there were several frags of birdsnests)

Looks like growth is quite nice, even for pinks:
