I'm about to use Red Sea Blue salt. How much salt do I need to mix to achieve 1.026 salinity for 10 gallons. I'm making more than that but just to get the ratio to make multiples of that. Thanks.

Directions are always on the bucket. I believe it's 5 cupsI'm about to use Red Sea Blue salt. How much salt do I need to mix to achieve 1.026 salinity for 10 gallons. I'm making more than that but just to get the ratio to make multiples of that. Thanks.
Aren't there instructions in the box/tub?I'm about to use Red Sea Blue salt. How much salt do I need to mix to achieve 1.026 salinity for 10 gallons. I'm making more than that but just to get the ratio to make multiples of that. Thanks.
Thanks.Directions are always on the bucket. I believe it's 5 cups
I don’t see the ratio on this
I think I add a cup and a half to a five gallon bucket, but I usually just guess and usually hit the mark after years of mixing.Mine did not have that leaflet. Regardless, they can't make it easy? I don't call that mixing instructions.
I don't either. It could have been in code so I didn't want to dismiss it totally.I don’t see the ratio on this
It looks like it is 2 1/2 cups 5 gallons, and so 5 cups per 10 gallons as @Jekyl said.I think I add a cup and a half to a five gallon bucket, but I usually just guess and usually hit the mark after years of mixing.
My buddy at the fish shop did it by weight salt/ gallon and I think there are some tables available (that I don’t have) that can help you out.
Search under Randy Holmes Farley he is reliable for this stuff
I don’t see the ratio on this
I did miss that too, however what kind of ****** mixing directions is that. Why don't they just put it in Latin? I don't even have anything to measure grams. Besides we still have to get back to the fact that MY bucket that didn't even have that leaflet.Huh, it says 40.3 grams per litre of water for 35ppt right there on the bottom line
Maybe that's too exact...
I would assume so as well. However I haven't been in the hobby for many years and don't remember what I used to do.Just about any salt mix should be right around 1/2 cup per gallon.
Depending upon what size cup you're using of course.Well if my logic is correct, and that sometimes that is debatable
40.3 grams per litre of water for 35ppt
40.3 grams = 1.42 ounces
So 1.42 oz for 1 liter
10 gallons = 37.85 liters
37.85 x 1.42= 53.74 / 8 = 6.71
So basically 6 3/4 cups of salt for 10 gallons.
