My girlfriends tank has been running pretty good for about 5 months now. She really wanted top get a monti cap and we dipped it (Coral RX) and all before putting it in about a month ago. It seemed to be doing well but all of the sudden last day or so got this white spot on it and seems to be spreading. We only have 1 other sps coral stick at the top and seems to be doing fine (only been in a couple of weeks). Tried doing a 25 gallon water change (Apex Dos) and turning down the lighting a little (2 XR15 G5's at 50% intensity). Rest of the tank parameters below.

Red Sea 300, 25 watt UV, Reefmat, Nyos 120 skimmer, 2 Reefwave 25 Bio bricks and Chemi pure
Salinity 1.026
PH 8.0-8.2
Alk 8.0-8.1 (Trident)
Cal 526 (Trident)
Mag 1435 (Trident)
Nitrates 15-20 (Dosing No-pox 3.5ml)
Phosphates (.09-.10)

All of the other soft corals seemed to be doing well. Fish doing well including recently added Foxface. We have been adding Red Sea A/B nutrition (14ml) one time per week. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

sorry to be picky, but it will help if you can turn down the blues and turn the whites up. Its hard to see with the blue color

I have the same tank and lights. They are weak par lights for SPS. I have 38 SPS corals in top 3rd of the tank and my lights run at 100% intensity on the AB setting. It looks like you placed the monti in a shaded lower portion of the tank. Needs to be higher in the light with flow.

The white part is dead, the red part looks healthy though. Move it higher like mentioned above, it likes high light and high flow.

Just be sure you want it though, I've tried very hard to kill mine, it refuses to die.

Well moved it up towards the top a little and cranked the lights to 100%. Par meter shows like 230. Hope that is good enough.
