I've never done a hogfish. I think they need a sandbed or substrate and that's probably why. They like to sift and eat the crustaceans in the sand.
Squirrelfish I've probably had at least 6-8 over the last 10 yrs and can say they are very docile and nocturnal. They adapt well to reef lighting as well.
Great hardy fish but loves the krill and larger junks of seafood which can be spendy. My toadfish has eaten a damsel and a tiny 1/4" six line wrasse. I don't recommend the toadfish for a community tank.

@mfinn :) looky looky

My buddy John from work helping me set it up this last weekend. Took my 3 days to finalize it leak free. Lol.
2 days of building. 1 day or rebuilding and tightening the overflow. Spray bar I wanted or intended to diy did not work. It was too high up and too much pressure. Needed more holes and to drop it down more. The dang spray mist wouldn't have been good on my light. Lol.
BTW the light still needs adjusting and tilted backwards towards the wall. I'll add my diy moonlight back too when I do that.
D
Awesome build brother! I wish I had the space and budget to do something bigger...

Any updates on your tank?
2 weeks ago I built a refugium in my aio IM 25g lagoon. Last week I installed an inkbird, which gave me a ton of peace of mind. I started feeding my acans mysis. Added a Florida ricordea mushroom last week. And, I learned that I have to consistently monitor and add alkalinity in tiny doses. My calcium is staying the same since I do little water changes every other day. Oh, I also added a skunk cleaner shrimp! I love him, and so does my kitty... There's something I'm forgetting, it'll come to me the the moment I post this.
